Picture-Perfect Christmas

Christmas Eve, so beautiful. Maddie, Kev and I ran around in all the snow... about 8 inches total. Lots of fun shoveling and watching Mads face plant in the drifts.
I am so glad it was a wonderland last night. It really set the tone for Christmas. Everything was pure and clean and fresh. Thankfully, it lasted till morning.

Hopefully we can get Kev's little car out tomorrow for work. Last I checked, the front tire was frozen in a puddle.

We gave Maddie one of 4 squeaky balls this morning before Seth arrived to open presents. She squeaked that thing all over our tiny apartment.

Awww, precious. Seth, Maddie, Kev and Samson in front of the tree this afternoon. We'd survived all the doggy play time and all the unwrapping. We'd wrestled a frozen turkey into the oven (phew...) and de-contaminated the kitchen a few times. And look at how cute everyone still is :)

A tradition Kev and I started is the exchange of ornaments. Last year he got a climbing shoe, and a trad-cam. This year, he got me a sparkly high-heel and purse, and I got him a tent. It's wicked fun to decorate the tree with new ornaments each year. Pretty soon we'll have to get bigger ornaments to fit bigger trees. Our little 3-footer can only handle petite decorations.

Well, our half-frozen turkey is in the oven, the gifts are slowly being organized and enjoyed, and the dogs are finally done rough-housing. All-in-all, this has been another wonderful Christmas spent with my brother and husband. I have so much to be grateful for I wouldn't even know where to start. But this is a good try.
