In Case You Were Wondering...

Last night I came home from the gym and was welcomed very enthusiastically by my sweet Maddie She jumped and jumped and jumped and loved and loved and loved.

Anyway, after making sure I was thoroughly welcomed home, Maddie hopped back up on the huge black armchair we have and proceeded to stare at me from her purple pillow. A few minutes later she decided to hop down, and that's when I saw her limping.

Her little hind leg was apparently useless to her and from that moment on I proceeded to imagine all the horrible things that could happen to Maddie unless we took her to the vet immediately. Luckily, Kev reminded me that I'm a little crazy.

We poked and prodded Maddie and couldn't get any whimpers from her, so we kinda determined that her leg may have just fallen asleep or she had an ache in her joint or something else minor. She could hop around on three legs just fine (oh so sad to watch) and she even came and tried to sit for a treat. The only disconcerting action was when she gnawed her entire leg for a minute.

Eventually the little one climbed into bed with me and Kev and settled in for what we hoped would be a recuperating sleep.

Kev let her out at 1am and said she limped less than before we went to sleep.

He let her out at 5am and couldn't tell if she limped at all.

She got up around 7:45am when I was leaving for work and, bless her heart, she was FINE. She used all her legs. No limping. She just looked at us like, "Hey guys, I'm great. Thanks for letting me sleep with you. Suckers."

Hopefully when I take a break to let her out at lunch she'll still be okay. Ironically, I just told Kev last week that I'm looking forward to Maddie's yearly check up in June because I want reassurance from the vet that she's healthy.

PS
Yes, I have my interview with the head honchos today. I'll let you know how it turns out.

  1. So glad to hear she's okay! Limping dogs are no fun, we dealt with that while waiting for Bear's knee to heal. Must've just been asleep!

Good luck today!!! I'm sure you'll do fabulous!
