PHriday, Volume III

It's been one adventure after another over at our new abode. For example, I had my first experience unloading the trash trailer that Kev borrowed from Jon. It was a sweet success. And Stick Mountain is no more!!

It went from this:

To this:

Pretty sweet progress, if I do say so myself. You may also notice how beautiful the pruned fruit trees look. They now form a wonderful canopy over the side yard, instead of being a trap of branches waiting to poke your eye out as you walk by.

We also got a shiny new mailbox that Kev and I put up together on Saturday of last week. It is quite a step up from the one we used to have. Behold the new box below:

This is what the old mailbox looks like after it took a good beating:

It really didn't want to give up the fight. But since I didn't want tetanus, it simply had to go. The new mailbox is just waiting for some house numbers, and maybe our name so the mailman will stop putting question marks on the letters we've been getting at the new place (those mortgage people sure are good at finding ya!!)

I realized I haven't shown off the new range and the floor-model fridge Kev and I got from Sear's a few weeks ago. They look mighty lonely in the bare kitchen (now sans cabinet fronts), but I still love them.

Pretty!! They'll look even nicer once I get my new red rug (courtesy of IKEA's "As Is" section) plopped down in front of them. The rug will conveniently be centered under the ceiling fan, which I hope to replace with a red-bladed one that I fell in love with at Lowe's.

The goal is to be in the house at the end of the month, and I'm really praying and hoping it happens. I love my stick-free yard with the beautiful trees. I love the shaggy, clean, new carpet. I love the bright sunlight and windows that open and close. I want to live in my little pink house!

So, wish me and Kev luck as we tackle a new week full of more projects and frustrations!!

Until next time.

PS I may even slip in a quick update of the bathroom this weekend, so be sure to check out the exciting progress!!
