Thankful Thursday

I am so glad I got to go to Crystal Hot Springs earlier this month. The sun was shining, the mineral pools were steaming, and the company was top notch. I even got my first sunburn of the season (very mild, promise).

The pool was out of order, but we didn't let that stop us from soaking up sun. Who needs to cool off after the long winter we had? Bring on the sunshine!! Bring on the 70 degree weather!!

Whit and Paul wanted a pinata since we camped out during cinco de mayo. We stuffed that panda full of candy and sneakily strung it up over a tree in the campsite. I think it only survived 3 or 4 attempts before it busted open. All in good fun.

And here's some of the good company I mentioned before. Thanks friends, it was fun to camp out and freeze to death that night. Whit (in the right-hand corner) was my spooning buddy so we managed to survive. Paul (next to Whit) and Eli (next to Paul) decided to sleep under the stars in their sleeping bags. I'm not sure why they didn't freeze to death. It was cold. But I'm grateful that when we all awoke the next morning, Paul and Eli were still alive.

Crystal Hot Springs is about 30 mins North of Ogden in Honeyville, UT. It is so beautiful and so inexpensive. Plus, during the summer, the pool/mineral springs are complemented by water slides!! Fun!! We didn't get to enjoy that during our stay, but I'm hoping to go back up later in the season to check it out.

This mini retreat was a great way to end my stint with Residence Life. Now I'm officially done with the part of my job that required me to be on call, facilitate training/staff meeting, and basically assist the Resident Assistants in any way possible.

I'm going to have my life back. I can leave my phone unattended for hours at a time and not have to worry about missing calls. I can go on vacations without having to schedule them around the weeks I'm on call. I can work an eight hour day and then go home. And leave work at the office.

Collectively, those might be some of the things I'm most thankful for this summer.
