Guess Who's Back, Back Again

I went back to Yoga last night since the summer has settled down and the Fall classes have started up again at WSU.

It was amazing.

Kathi taught a power class and it whupped me. I was loving every aching minute of it though. Who cares if I sweat a lot? That's why I brought a towel. Usually after an invigorating class, I don't feel the aftermath until 48 hrs later. I woke up this morning feeling the familiar pull in my tushy that announces itself after lots of lunges. I love it.

While in Savasana (Corpse Pose) at the conclusion of my practice, it really hit me that I should pursue certification. I know I've already established that it's something I want to do, but when I had a quiet moment to reflect on my practice, I felt confirmation that I need Yoga in my life. I needs it (that's for you, Kev).

I've got a lot of work to do over the next 3 months. I took a long hiatus (May-almost all of August!) and I need to remind my muscles what it's like to stretch and breathe. Sounds like a good challenge though. What could be better than opening up your mind and body to positive energy?

As I mentioned earlier this week, one of my goals for September is to organize more of the house, even if drywall and painting isn't done. There are millions of reasons to unpack our things, one being that I need to find my Yoga books so I can quiz myself on the Sanskrit terms. Kathi busted some out last night and I had to think a bit to do the pose without looking at her example. I used to be so on the ball with the most commonly used poses (for Ashtanga/Hatha Yoga) but now I second-guess myself.

This journey to certification is already exciting, and I haven't even registered for the class yet! I just love having goals set, and seeing the progress I'm making. Go me!

  1. LIV! YAY! I'm so excited about your realization. That's awesome. It was always there, but now I can tell you're going to achieve it and keep going and going. You're going to be a master yoga teacher someday.

  2. I love goals too. Without them I'd quite possibly stay in bed.
