Alternatives to The Daily Grind

Can you have a case of the Friday blahs? I didn't think it was possible to feel so bummed this close to the weekend, but today that's how I feel. I just want to run away from work and cuddle with Maddie for the rest of the day. I don't want to clean the house, do the dishes, rake leaves, put gas in the car, brush my teeth or answer the door.

I just want to sleep in my bed with my dog.

Is there a way to get paid to do that? Cause that would really help me out.

There is SO MUCH to do before Thanksgiving. Namely, get the oven hooked up to an electrical outlet that works. Also, I've got to dedicate myself to deep-cleaning the house this weekend so that when my siblings arrive later next week I'll only have to do a little bit of tidying up. Plus, this year is the year that I am committed to getting ALL the gizzards out of the turkey BEFORE cooking it. I always seem to miss something. I'm pretty sure that's why the bird takes random amounts of time to cook each year. I'm also going to cook some sweet potatoes this year because I liked a bite of some that I tried at Jasoh during Kev's "Dinner and a Movie" night for work. So I need to find a good recipe for making those (WITHOUT marshmallows, thankyouverymuch).

I'm still dreaming of sanding the table and staining it. I wanted to do that a couple of weekends ago but it was so rainy that I didn't think the stain would ever dry in the humidity. The weekend after that I spent in SLC so I could go to school. So here we are, two weekends later. I might actually get it done. I just can't stand the thought of having my pretty dishes and food on a pine-colored table. Gross.

I would much rather tackle all my housekeeping and not get paid for a whole day than sit at my desk for another 6 hours.

But above all, I'm still going look into how I can get a paycheck for cuddling in the sun with Maddie.

  1. I think that celebrities get paid to sleep and hang out as long as they sell their pictures to people magazine, so you could try that. Other than that, if you find out some way to make a living doing those things, I'm in!
And by the way, that's really cool that you make your own turkey every year. It will be hilarious - the year I finally do Thanksgiving myself.

Thanks for stopping by!
