It's About Time

I've lived in the Pink House since July. Since then, I've only met one of my neighbors (see posts about practically rabid German Shepherd). They are nice people and they've given me and Kev little baskets of treats and fresh produce from their garden since we moved in.

Across the street in a little while house with two dogs and at least one cat, there's another neighbor I've neglected to meet. I think I'm just afraid of invading people's space and bothering them.

But isn't that what neighbors are for?

Last night I baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies and ventured out into the neighborhood this afternoon.

I dropped cookies off at the dog neighbor's house. And I officially introduced myself to my super-cute neighbor who lives in the little white house with two dogs and at least one cat. All of whom came to the door when I knocked.

She is a cute girl. I like her already. She opened the door so I could see her Christmas tree. Not the one I can see from the street (which lights up her whole yard from inside!) but the one that's just inside the entry and is so classically beautiful.

I was able to bring some cookies to other friends on the street and it was so nice to reach out of my shell and bother my neighbors. I think I'll do it more often.

Merry Christmas.

  1. Thank you for this post! I know I'm a little late on the comments, but it was nice to hear a good story about venturing out to meet the neighbors. I'm the same way, wondering if I should go to them or if I should wait and see if they come to me. But I think I'll try to be better at putting myself out there!
I love reading your thoughts about constantly bettering yourself and stepping out of your comfort zone. It makes me want to do the same.

Thanks for stopping by!
