It's in a book, so take a look!

I love to read. Surprise! I used to go to the Library and stock up on books galore. Now I'm kind of tired of the routine. I go online and search for books within genres I enjoy... but sometimes I stall out and never make it to the Library. Or the Library doesn't have that book I had my heart set on.

So. Idea.

I know I have lots of real-life and blog friends who love reading. Or who have read at least one really great book that I may not have read.

The idea? Book swapping.

Instead of everyone trying to go out and get the same book to read and discuss in a book club forum, it's a great idea to just swap books with friends and make the discussion part optional. If I like the book you lend me, I may just chat you up about it. If I don't, then no worries, you won't have to defend the book if you don't want to.

I'm really good at taking care of books, I promise. I borrowed the whole Twilight series (and may I just say that I finally read the last book and BOO what a bore?) and returned them in great condition.

Rather than heading off to Barnes & Noble/FYE/Amazon and spending cash on books, I think this would be a great way for all of us book lovers in Northern Utah (I'm thinking Weber/Davis counties to start?) to share our love of literature without having to travel too far or spend lots of time and money trying to track down a new read.

I'm open to just getting people involved and having everyone individually swap books, or we could get together as a group and make the swap then.

If you'd like to participate (or if you have a book suggestion) let me know!

  1. How much do I love your 'Reading Rainbow' title?

As for me, I'm a book whore. I admit it openly and freely. Let us know how it goes in your counties and then maybe, if it works, you can expand up to the Great Northwest!

  2. I would love to participate with this, I love to read. But for some reason I always read the same kind of books. Let me know what you decide to do.

  3. I don't live in Weber or Davis counties, but I do love to read. If you stop by my house next time you visit Seth (or IKEA or DSW... you know, priorities) then stop by. I'll give you Kite Runner or A Thousand Splendid Suns (even better) or The Tale of Edgar Sawtelle. If you're in the mood for a memoir, I'll give you Beautiful Boy. And you can bring me something and everyone will be happy. Plus, I won't be stacking up the late fees that I am accruing as we speak.

  4. Ooo...Liv, what a great idea! I don't have a million books (all though I wish I did!) but I would totally love to do this!

  5. I would love to participate. I love to read and am trying harder to read more this year. And I read a book this year I think everyone should read. So, just tell me how this will work or who I should send a book to, and I'm there.

Thanks for stopping by!
