Wear sunscreen, please?

I'm having a slight health scare this week.

My family teases me about being a hypochondriac, but seriously, I've never thought I'm suffering from something that hasn't been true.

When I started getting headaches in high school I got x-rays to see if my wisdom teeth were coming in. The dentist showed them to me and I pointed them out to him even though he said there weren't any teeth there. A few weeks later, I had three wisdom teeth pulled.

It's not like I think I'm coming down with something just because I learned about it the other day. I don't think I have swine flu or anything...

On Sunday a mole that I've had forever on my hip started freaking out. It bled. It changed shape. It was tender. It was gross. And now I'm convinced I have skin cancer.

I was fortunate enough to get in to a doctor yesterday. She numbed the area and scraped that sucker right off my hip. She commented on the blood and I managed not to throw up. She told me she'd stick a band-aid on it and in the morning I could pull it off and enjoy being mole-free.

Last night the mole-hole bled through the band-aid, my tank top, and my shirt. Awesome! Kev applied pressure to it while I convinced myself even further that I have skin cancer.

Then it stopped bleeding and I calmed down.

I can't wait for the results of the biopsy next week. I just need to know.

  2. You should watch the Office episode, "Michael's Birthday". It is from the second season. Kevin has a skin cancer scare too. You can at least have some laughs while you wait for the results. We'll keep you in our prayers.
