A river runs through it

Our neighborhood used to be full of orchards and traces of the old irrigation system still remain. On our street, some homes still have cranks that can be turned to release water that is intended flood yards and orchards instead of using a sprinkler system.

Friday afternoon I drove up to the Pink House and saw that someone had opened up the water gates, but for recreational purposes. A yard up the street was fully flooded and the family was playing in swimsuits in their home-made pool.

Since our property has a horrible drain that clogs under our driveway, we had a pool too.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Maddie had SO MUCH FUN playing in her ghetto kiddie pool

When my Grandma Fluff saw me playing in a similar sidewalk puddle as a kid, she marched right out and bought me a plastic pool for the back yard. I hope Maddie doesn't get any ideas. I'll let her play in the gutter for as long as she's interested.

Who can beat free fun?

  1. I'm glad you ended up having fun with it, because I would be kind of pissed off if someone flooded my driveway.

  2. Thats kinda cool about the irrigation system. At least Maddie had some fun in the water.

Thanks for stopping by!
