I bet you're wondering what I did on my first day of vacation.

Did you hear that? It was a huge sigh of contentment.

I'm on vacation. I slept in until 8:30 on Saturday morning. I started the laundry. I did some real estate homework. I watched a movie until Kev woke up. Sounds so glamorous, does it not?

Truthfully, it was so wonderful. I got a few things out of the way and then proceeded to spend the rest of the day with Bethany and Natalia- we ate at Costa Vida (of course) and spent some time squealing in the toddler section of Old Navy. I find great joy in purchasing little teeny tiny outfits for my friends' babies.

I also find great joy in getting my face made up by the girl with false lashes at Ulta. If I can manage not to spend all my money in the Freeport Outlets, I may just invest in the bareMinerals starter kit. I have never seen my face so smooth and glowing before. My only concern is that there isn't a line for "translucent" skin. Hopefully the "light" will suffice for me in the winter.

When the girls and I had exhausted all of our window-shopping energy, we took Maddie down to the river and avoided millions of bees while sitting on the banks. It was a beautiful day, and spending time with our toes in the river helped me refrain from complaining about the heat.

After Bethany and Natalia headed home, I rounded up the evening with more homework and the occasional helping hand for Kev, who was installing permanent light fixtures in the bathroom until 2 A.M..

He's not done yet and I am oh-so-happy that I'll be out of town during the rest of the installation. I'm not really that helpful, and I can't stand the mess of remodeling. So it's a win-win.

Did you hear that? It's the microwave telling me the kettle corn is done. Day two of vacation involves watching excessive amounts of "Flight of the Conchords" since Kev is finally home from his church meetings.

Ta for now.

  1. Liv- it is 100% worth it to invest in the bareminerals! DO IT! I have never been so happy with makeup in my life. The beauty is that you can choose how much you need, so in the winter when I am super pale, my color still works! It feels light and heavenly. And I have never looked better either. Really, I love it. ok, enough of the testimonial.

I am glad you are enjoying your vacation. Enjoy your trip home!

Jess, there's one on Riverdale Rd and it also looks like there's one in Sandy. Super convenient for me!! If you need me to hook you up, I totally can. I'm in Sandy and Riverdale ALL THE TIME.

  6. I have always wanted that starter kit, too. Let me know what you think when you get it! I didn't know they had eyeshadow, either...

Also, Flight of the Concords is amazing. "Your beard is good."

  7. You should talk to your Mary Kay Beauty Consultant I think it is Alisha...we have pretty much the same thing as bare minerals but a ton cheaper and only 1 step instead of 3 so it is a time saver as well! Just thought I would do a plug in for that haha!!
