Um, yes, hi... hello.

I have not slept enough in the last couple of days.

Sunday night, also known as the-night-before-my-first-day-at-a-new-job, I couldn't get over my worry long enough to let myself fall asleep. That was coupled with new-found knowledge that I had to make cupcakes before going to work in the morning order to have them for Seth's surprise birthday party Monday night (more on that later).

I made a dozen cupcakes before 7am Monday and was at my new office by 8:20. No one was there. The ceiling tiles weren't in place. The counters weren't on the front desks. I was locked out. I failed my first day at work.

Instead of crying, I started making some phone calls. Eventually my former WSU co-worker and now current co-worker at my new job (phew) informed me everyone was meeting at the unfinished offices at 10:30. So I didn't fail my first day of work.

To pass the time I visited with Nikki and her baby girl and ate second breakfasts. It helped me refrain from worrying about what could go wrong when I finally went to the office again.

Thankfully when I returned to the offices at 10:30, I wasn't alone. And I didn't fail. I just helped file and arrange and had the opportunity to get acquainted with my new co-workers. All I can say is that they're all so incredibly nice and I appreciate them so freakin much.

I was able to leave early to teach my Pilates class (which is right across the street from my new office) and was greeted warmly by the ladies who missed me while I was on vacation. It was so good to hear!

After that Kev and I jetted down to Sandy for Seth's surprise party with Maddie and cupcakes in tow.

And you know what? You're going to have to hear about that later. Ice cream and a cuddle with my Kev is calling my name.

  1. Thats nice you could go over to Nikkis and hang out until you were really supposed to be to work :)

  2. I'm glad your first day went well. I have rough first days of work at new jobs — at least up until that actual day. Lots of nervousness and anxiety. It's good to have that first day over.

And yeah ... ice cream sounds good.

  3. I am so glad to hear that things went so well! that is wonderful! Keep us updated. I am happy that things seem to be working out for you. It makes me happy. Keep having good day!

  4. Yeah, what a relief to have that over with. I am so glad it went well and you like your co-workers.

Thanks for stopping by!
