I used to work in daycare, M-F, 8am-5pm. ALL SUMMER LONG.

The summer after I graduated from high school, I took a job as Kinder Camp Director. I prepared the classroom each morning for the little ones and had field trips planned each week. We had a weekly beach day as well. We played on the playground in the good weather, and played in the gym when it rained.

One field trip took us to the firehouse down the street. I'm pretty sure the kids all held onto a long rope and together we walked down Main Street to visit the firemen and their trucks. We didn't have much a budget and couldn't borrow the big yellow bus very often for our small camp.

But we had lots of fun walking to the firehouse and the local library! I never lost a kid, which is especially impressive because camp was in the middle of a tourist town.

I took so many photographs of the kids I worked with during high school. I made doubles so the parents could have copies and I used the rest for my own personal photography portfolio. It eventually led me to do a senior project related to photography.

Thanks kids.
