Enough of the stupid ring already.

Kev and I just watched The Lord of the Rings trilogy and boy, oh boy. By the third movie I was seriously doubting why I asked Kev to watch them with me.

Can't they just get the stupid ring to the stupid place and be done with it already? I understand the books are wicked long and it's not easy to condense all that material into movies, but there's no reason for it to take 10 hours of my life to see Frodo succeed.

I'm glad we were able to enjoy the movies together, but next time I won't be watching the extended versions.

Have you seen all the movies? What do you think of them?

  1. Two summers ago my friend finally made me watch them. I still haven't seen the final disc on the last movie (we watched them in shifts over time), and I don't remember much of what happened...and yeah. Two summers ago. Haven't felt a huge desire to finish. I'm sure he gets the ring back. Or gives it away. Or whatever he was supposed to do. :) Never really got into it...

  2. If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it... If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it! Sorry... I had to.

I have never watched a LOTR movie all way though. It's impossible for me to sit there. I get bored.

  3. I have seen all three of them, and on more than one occasion. I do think they are good movies. Also, we own the books. I've read the first one and Brian is reading the rest. The books are a lot more fun than the movies, as is often the case. Anyway, after watching them a few months ago I don't think I need to see them again for awhile.

  4. I only really like the first one (don't tell Matt). The rest are too gory and intense for my taste. It is also the most inspiring.

  5. I do like the movies, but I think the extended versions were a bit much for me.

And all the hobbit love drives me crazy. Why do they have to spend so much time giving each other meaningful glances?

  6. i think i fell asleep during every single one. i hate them.

Thanks for stopping by!
