My new Pilates buddy

Really, how does one go about delivering good news without resorting to an impersonal mass form of communication? It's pretty tricky. Also, factor in how awkward it can sometimes be to make oneself the center of attention and sharing the news just got a little trickier.

The last few weeks have been interesting. Full of ups and downs and more ups and more downs. I've been through medication withdrawals, new-medication-side-effects, raging hormones and an insanely fierce increase of appetite. I've suffered from nightly bloody noses and excessive fatigue. My lower back wants to give up the ghost. My waistbands feel the same way.

Kev and I never dreamed we'd be so fortunate to experience this so soon in our lives. When we decided to expand our family, I braced myself for months of disappointment just to be safe. I talked myself into believing it might not happen for us any time soon.

We were pretty surprised when two months later that little pee test registered a positive result one Sunday morning in November. I think using the word "surprised" doesn't even begin to explain our combined reactions.

But it'll have to do.

We'll be welcoming a baby into the Pink House at the beginning of August and we're wicked excited.

  7. Ditto what Abby said, I swear the second trimester changed my life. i felt so amazing and glowy and such! :) it's the first trimester bloat that almost did me in, but i swear it goes away. you're going to be an amazingly cute pregnant lady (i don't like lady, it sounds old...i think...but woman sounds weird too...and girl is just not right with that sentence...) and a fantastic mom. yeah! i've been dreaming about what wonderful things you'll do to your nursery..can't wait to see!
