Week 19 strikes again.

Surprise! My dr and I both believed I was into my 19th week but on Thursday my pilates buddy measured at 18 weeks and 5 days. So here we are revisiting week 19. Yea!

Slowly but surely I'm acquiring basic needs for my pilates buddy. She now has a car seat, thanks to Amanda, and a mattress for a crib I haven't purchased yet. If all else fails she can sleep in the pack 'n play until I get to the crib. She has an activity center and a trunk-load of diapers stashed in the basement. Hopefully Kev will score a great dresser at the auction he's attending today. And hopefully he'll "help" me sand and paint it. By which I mean... do it for me. I guess all she really needs next is a yoga mat.

The shelves Kev and I picked up a few weeks ago are still sitting in my car. That's how motivated we are lately. The room-that-shall-not-be-named is still a disaster area. I wanted to clean it out with Kev last Saturday but he ended up getting some work and was in Layton until 6pm. So. Once again I have the preliminary clean out scheduled for another weekend in the distant future. I feel like if I can get Kev to help me sort through what needs to be in the basement and what needs to be donated to DI, I can make some real progress setting up shelves, reorganizing books/magazines and clearing out the closet. It's just a matter of the two of us having energy and time on the same day to tackle it.

I keep getting a lot of feedback from other moms about having an enjoyable second trimester. I just don't feel like I'm there. Closing in on 19 weeks and I'm still so tired. I'm more irritable than in the first trimester. The nausea that I said goodbye to in the first trimester has also returned periodically. It hits when I'm driving to work in the mornings and lingers until lunch. I'm grateful I haven't lost a meal to it yet, but it's still unpleasant to try working through nausea half the day.

The good news about the second trimester is that I felt my pilates buddy busting a move on Sunday morning for the first time. I was so excited to tell Kev when we met up at church, especially since the feeling continued and it wasn't just a fluke. I've felt it throughout the week consistently and while it's amazing, it's also so weird. I'm looking forward to the day when Kev gets to feel her too.

  1. Wow! You really do have a lot of stuff already. Way to go. You might want to have her sleep in the pack-n-play for a while anyway. Belle slept in hers for a couple of months until we could set up the crib. It was easier to get her out of the pack-n-play than a crib anyways, especially in the middle of the night when you are half asleep, stumbling around. It was really nice to have her right there next to me. Good luck getting everything done and ready.

Thanks for stopping by!
