For the record.

I don't consider myself a "strong" person for getting treatment for what ails me.

I get a little uncomfortable when I read comments that say I'm "strong."

I'm just trying to be sensible. It's feels like a selfish decision sometimes. I really did it for me. I didn't want to be unhappy all the time. I didn't want to feel so miserable.

I do appreciate all the support though. It's a way of showing that the negative stigmas associated with depression can be ignored. There's nothing wrong with talking about depression. It isn't anything to hide.

Let's continue to promote healthy living any way we can, even if I am afraid of the label "strong."

Speaking of healthy living... today I am twenty-flipping-six. My Pilates buddy is approximately 23 weeks in gestation. Kev found a temporary job. Maddie now has a fenced-in backyard at the Pink House.

I'd say this year is off to a healthy start.

  1. Happy birthday! And you are strong, whether you believe it or not. You're an inspiration.
