I thought we were a TEAM!

Watching TV one night with Kev, I noticed a strange reaction from him to a particular commercial.

You guys, it was a diaper commercial.

After the babies got their bums swaddled in the best diaper ever made, Kev turned to me and asked: "Don't you want a little 'me' someday?"

I thought we were both emotionally scarred enough to be done with babies. Aspen is the best thing since sliced bread but I'm still having a hard time letting go of the memories of how completely wrecked I was when she joined our family.

But here's Kev, getting baby hungry again after only 11 months. He's already healed! He's ready for another! He wants a boy! When I told him I am in no way ready to have another child, he told me it's okay, he'll just admire other people's babies on TV. Isn't that the saddest thing you've ever heard? He's going to try filling the baby void with more diaper commercials.

I don't know what I'm going to do. Perhaps I can constantly stream YouTube vids of babies when Kev gets home from work? Then he can feel like he has more than just Aspen.

  1. Tell him that he may never get a little me.

We've successfully had four girls. And there is no way I'm taking a chance on another way.

I told my hubby that he is going to have to be satisfied with a "Little me" that sports a vagina.

  2. My mom told me I should have 10 kids because I had such an easy pregnancy, delivery, and a good baby.
Yeah, I told her God made it that way so I would have more than ONE child. Owen may have a sibling at some point in the future, just not in the near future.

  3. haha, well of course he is ready, men do not get as emotionally drained or attached as the moms do, that's just how it is. he did not have to carry Aspen for 9 months or deliver her. In time you might be ready for another one but honestly even though I know it is a joint decision I think the woman's vote counts for about 10% more considering the toll it takes on our emotions, not to mention our bodies! So don't fret, he understands :)
