Free art is fun art.

I don't remember what Aspen was doing when I tackled the project of freshening the art in her room, but it was probably something really productive and educational (coloring on the TV stand with black crayon).

Since Aspen was born, I have only changed out the center frame a couple of times. Spring has kicked me into high-gear when it comes to redecorating/re-purposing/throwing junk away. When Q.A. Designs offered her printables for free earlier this month, I made sure to download a few for Aspen's room.

Unfortunately, my printer is mostly out of ink, which means printing free printables doesn't exactly go well. I managed to get "Utah" to print mostly in its entirety though. The blue stripes created an outline for what used to be an orange state shape. Since orange didn't print, I traced Utah on some card stock, cut it out, and glued it on. Then I cut out a little heart for SLC (as was originally designed on the print) and glued that on as well.

It isn't perfect, but that's part of the charm. I mean, how can it compete with Aspen's first watercolor anyway? And let's just say I'm glad I didn't try manipulating the "Maine" print. Have you taken a look at that squiggly coastline lately? No freakin' way.
