Mama Style

This outfit was born of practicality. I had a see-through issue with my shirt and was not in the mood to change. So I sifted through my closet and found a long-lost vest to throw over the too-sheer-shirt and solve my problem.

It instantly upped my feelings of accomplishment for the day. I solved a problem before breakfast! But let's get down to business here. I wore this outfit on an adventure to City Creek. So there was lots of walking and kid-chasing and picnic-ing. But that doesn't mean I can't look and feel put together and confident.

If you love cotton t-shirts, try a v-neck for a change. Fill in the space with a necklace to bring some shine into your outfit. Aspen loves playing with the necklace, but she has learned to be gentle and not poke me in the eye anymore. So no excuses that you can't wear jewelry because you have grabby-kids!

Also, I'm a huge fan of sandals. I really am. But instead of ratty old flip flops, how about investing in a pair of wedge flip flops? Not platform, but wedge. They're a little dressier, but still comfortable (especially when you have a busted toe that won't fit in any other shoes at the moment). And a little heel at the end of any skinny jean immediately elongates your legs and makes everybody happy.

sandals (circa 2007ish): Rocket Dog via DSW // skinny jeans & vest (from a fashion swap): Old Navy // belt (circa 2006 honeymoon in SF) & v-neck tee: GAP // necklace: gift from Mary!
