A is for Airplane

As long as Aspen gets to use a glue stick during "preschool," she's happy. Right now, we're focusing just on coloring each letter of the alphabet, and talking about words that begin with said letter.

"A" is exciting because "Aspen starts with A!" as we learned on our first day. I'm also reminding her of the ASL sign for each letter. Signing Time has always been a huge part of Aspen's life and she still loves it. The first word she ever said was actually not said at all. She signed "ball." So we're just going over the alphabet right now and eventually she might want to finger-spell some words. We'll see where she takes us!

We also made some paper airplanes, and I wish I'd looked online for tips because I almost couldn't remember how to fold one!! Shame on me. But, Aspen doesn't really care if they fly and she still had a lot of fun tossing them around.

As always, I'd love to hear about what you do with your kids to keep them learning and happily occupied. I'm really low-key, but don't let that discourage you from sharing your awesome ideas!

  2. Look at you go. I still have yet to get to the store to buy my supplies. I was without a car for nearly two weeks. I need to get started though.

  3. When Aspen woke up today, her request was to make Valentine's. So... it was pretty random, but we cut hearts and dots out of paper and glued them on to other paper. Super-simple and fun!
