An excuse to pull out the vintage pyrex

Thanksgiving was going to be just our little family plus my favorite older brother, but at the last-minute we had two more unexpected guests: Grandma Linda and Grandpa John! Kev's mom and step-dad are in town for the holiday and Aspen was surprised to see them when she got up from her nap.

It was good to have more people because we had a HUGE turkey and so many leftovers. We had a "practice" Thanksgiving just a couple of weeks ago so we've had a lot of turkey lately. I didn't want another ten pounds staring me in the face for the next week when I opened my fridge. While turkey bacon sandwiches are extremely delicious, I can only eat so many.

I also made my very first, completely from-scratch (filling) pumpkin pie. It was such a relief to discover it was actually edible when it came time for dessert. I don't think I'll ever go back to using pumpkin from a can, even if I could eat dairy.

I'm thankful we had this day together as a family, especially since Kev will be back up in Ogden all day tomorrow to do what we hope is the last project ever on the Pink House. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones, or at the very least, good food.

  1. Congratulations on selling your house!! That is such wonderful news. We are so happy for you guys.

  2. It actually hasn't sold yet, but we hope it's close.

Thanks for stopping by!
