Mama Style - Guest Blogger Jen

When I started thinking about this series, I thought about other women I know and how they, too, can inspire. I certainly can't give advice that will work for everyone, so I asked different mamas to contribute. Some are working mothers, some mostly stay home. Some have a newborn for the first time, others are doing it a third. Today's guest blogger is Jen, who I met through mutual friends in college.
The one thing that always makes me feel fabulous as a momma of my two sweet girls is accessorizing.
It can make an outfit go from bland, boring to making it pop & giving it the “wow” effect. Plus it makes me
feel more feminine & girly which I have to say I am. I would rather spend my money on buying my girls
new clothes, because if you haven’t been shopping in the baby/toddler girl section anywhere, well they
always have cute clothes & something I want to buy for them.

Which means I very rarely buy myself something unless it’s a special occasion or I happen to
find something I really like for the right price. The other thing I love about accessories is they are
generally cheap, anywhere from $5-$10 so I don’t feel guilty when I splurge on some new earrings or
necklace. And some of the earrings, necklaces & rings I do wear have a special significance to me.

Necklace with my girls' birth dates, weights & birth stones. Diamond necklace I received for my first
Christmas married. Diamond earrings I received last Christmas. Pearl earrings I received for Christmas,
when we were engaged. My wedding ring, designed by my hubby. Tiffany & Co ring purchased on a trip
to NYC. And all my other earrings I like to wear

Jen, thanks again for being a part of this series. Accessories can really make an outfit, and I love that you have items with special meaning as well as extra sparkle. I can remember where or why I got almost every accessory I own!
