Flowers are always a gift that keeps on giving

Kev bought an orchid for me last year around Mother's Day. It bloomed beautifully in the Pink House and I loved seeing it on the kitchen table every day.

After we moved to West Jordan, the orchid decided it was done. Which is fine, because I know they're quite temperamental. I wasn't concerned when the blooms shriveled up and fell off. But then I stopped watering it and Kev got concerned.

He made it his mission to nurse it back to health since the thick, green leaves exhibited a will to live. With his love (mostly just remembering to water it unlike me), two blooms popped out early in February and then opened as March came in.

I'm glad someone cared enough to not only buy the orchid in the first place, but to keep it alive for another round of flowers.

  1. I'm so jealous! I have killed many orchids despite valiant efforts to nurse them back to health.
