Online consignment shopping

Months ago I heard of thredUP for the first time. It's an online consignment shop for women and children. Sounds great, right? But I'm always hesitant to buy clothes online because of the hassle of sizing and returns. Even with brands I love and trust, every few years they change sizing and it can be hard to ensure a good fit.

However, I couldn't pass up the chance to get 35% off and free shipping using a code provided by Elaine a couple of weeks ago (PS It's good for one-time use until the end of the month: CM35). I browsed brands I know and took a chance on three pairs of shorts (end-of-season sale shopping, woo!). They arrived the following week and I did pretty well. Two of the three fit and I'm thrilled. And even though I'm going to return one pair, it was nice to get three pairs of shorts for the price of one I bought at Target earlier this summer.

The clothes sold on thredUP are in really good condition, too. I was surprised when my package arrived and everything looked brand-new. So, if you want to clean out your closet and sell items on the site, just make sure they meet all the criteria before you send them in.

If you want to get started shopping on thredUP, you can automatically get $10 off your first order by clicking HERE.

  2. Love the Thredup first heard about it from a coupon blog that sent me an email. I've gotten a few things for $2.99 (just paying shipping) that are brand new with tags because they had a promo that was a $15 credit :) and I did the same thing I shared the link & whoever bought from it we both got $10 :) I got Bailee used shorts but they were like brand new for free!

  3. Just placed my first order! I almost never shop thrift stores (not for any good reason other than I get overwhelmed at the thought of digging through all those racks) so here's hoping it goes well! Thanks for the tip.

    1. I really really hope everything fits! I'm bummed I have to return one of my items, but mostly because they don't provide a return-shipping envelope of any kind.
